The latest, an Amazon sketch I colored, trying a few new techniques. Joshua Gamon's Pulp Flamingo. One of my characters, for a story I've had rolling around in my head for many years. A little stiff, but getting better. The first one I was not completely disappointed with is this nude study - drawing with a mouse is something of a trick, like drawing with a hockey puck, while the canvas is in an aquarium halfway across the room - you draw one place, and the marks appear somewhere else - very disconcerting. This one was sort of a breakthrough, and I did it relatively quickly, an hour or so, though I could have drawn it on paper in about ten minutes - and haven't messed with it since: The fantasy Cro-Magnon babe below was a bigger project - this one took a while, and it's still far from done, her lower body is not yet completed, and I have to put some clothes on her, and this is sort of an interim piece. This is not meant to be a scientifically accurate depiction, merely a piece inspired by some discussion on evolution. That's about it for now - I'm going to try and shoot for five or two a month. Here's a couple of things, this one was going to be the logo for this site, but I decided it looked better without it - Click on it to see what the page looked like with the gif. This was done with Reptile, believe it or not, just a random image, which I ran through a couple of filters, and tweaked a bit - I've got a million of 'em. Inks & PencilsI am only slowly getting to the point where I can ink, I used to do a lot of washes, so that is coming back faster, I never did develop a good comics inking style, so that is having to be developed from scratch. A version of the Battle of Pelennor Field from Lord of the Rings, done for a DW draw-off - I've wanted to do this one for years, and I plan to do another, better version eventually. Here's the pencils on the Pulp Flamingo. 4-8-02 - inspired by the Buck Rodgers comic strip, the entire archive of which I had practically memorized - no, I'm not that old, the Library had the complete works in one volume.
