Sequentials

Jason and the Argobots Sequentials

Sequential Pages for Jason and the Argobots from Oni Press, by J. Torres & Mike Norton.

Colter, Page 1

Here's page 1 of my first sequential story that I did for the FreeComix FreeSpeech Special issue #1 - Story by Steven Grant, who was kind enough to allow me to adapt a vignette he wrote in his Permenent Damage column at Comic Book Resources.

Click on the FreeComix logo to your right to open the FreeComix site, where you can download all the issues - and like the name says, it's free!

Update: FreeComix is no longer in operation, if you didn't get yours, I dunno what to tell you -bummer.

Artists have a "very primitive side"; the Gnostics had that idea and expressed it as Pleroma, "a state of fullness where the pairs of opposites, yea and nay, day and night, are together ... "

~ Jung, Dream Analysis: Notes of the Seminar Given in 1928-1930

Here's the Gallery, I'll have some other galleries with web page designs and such up eventually, but right now all I've got are a few digital paintings I've managed to get to near completion - There is some nudity, but hey - that's art.

Amazon 01

The latest, an Amazon sketch I colored, trying a few new techniques.

Kyra

One of my characters, for a story I've had rolling around in my head for many years. More about her later perhaps.

Predator vs. Boba Fett with Snakeyes.

Done for Digital Webbing Draw-off - watercolor and ink. Don't even ask what this is about, the moderators come up with some crazy ideas and people draw it the way they think it ought to look.

A little stiff, but getting better.

The first one I was not completely disappointed with is this nude study - drawing with a mouse is something of a trick, like drawing with a hockey puck, while the canvas is in an aquarium halfway across the room - you draw one place, and the marks appear somewhere else - very disconcerting.

This one was sort of a breakthrough, and I did it relatively quickly, an hour or so, though I could have drawn it on paper in about ten minutes - and haven't messed with it since:

The fantasy Cro-Magnon babe below was a bigger project - this one took a while, and it's still far from done, her lower body is not yet completed, and I have to put some clothes on her, and this is sort of an interim piece.

This is not meant to be a scientifically accurate depiction, merely a piece inspired by some discussion on evolution.

That's about it for now - I'm going to try and shoot for five or two a month. Here's a couple of things, this one was going to be the logo for this site, but I decided it looked better without it -

Click on it to see what the page looked like with the gif. This was done with Reptile, believe it or not, just a random image, which I ran through a couple of filters, and tweaked a bit - I've got a million of 'em.

That's it for now, thanks for checking it out! Click on the Forbidden Garden Designs logo below if you are interested in prints of any of these, or have a commision you'd like me to do.

Stay tuned to this same bat channel, and I'll try to get some more up for you soon - ciao!

Inks & Pencils

I am only slowly getting to the point where I can ink, I used to do a lot of washes, so that is coming back faster, I never did develop a good comics inking style, so that is having to be developed from scratch. Ghost

Ghost, pencil. An interesting character from the now defunct - I picked up a whole bunch of these out of the quarter bin, score! Pencil, 8 1/2 x 11.

Elektra, copyright, Marvel Comics inc. Everybodies favorite female Ninja assassin. Ink with brush (My best inked linework yet! ).

Nice Kitty

Lion Tamer, done for no particular reason. Pencil, 8 1/2 x 11.

A version of the Battle of Pelennor Field from Lord of the Rings, done for a DW draw-off - I've wanted to do this one for years, and I plan to do another, better version eventually. Ink and inkwash, 11 x 17.

Runes of Ragnan submission: Gunnar

Submission for the Runes of Ragnan Gunnar contest. Ink and inkwash, 11 x 17.

Here's a series of Dragons I did for the BattleDragon's RPG, my first inked pieces.

Pulp Flamingo Pencils

Here's the pencils on the Pulp Flamingo.

4-8-02 - inspired by the Buck Rodgers comic strip, the entire archive of which I had practically memorized - no, I'm not that old, the Library had the complete works in one volume. The original Klaw was actually a malignant Dwarf, this one is just happened to have that old timey Buck Rodgers feel -
